Chaos, Cameras & Cold Pints: A Day with The Reverse Cowboys

Some shoots you can plan down to the minute. Others… not so much.

When The Reverse Cowboys, a Norfolk-based punk rock band with energy levels off the charts, got in touch for a shoot, I knew this wasn’t going to be business as usual. What I didn’t know was how I was going to photograph them—and, to be honest, neither did they.

Even as we were riding the train into Norwich, there was still no fixed plan. No set list of shots. No carefully scouted locations. Just three chaotic legends, myself a camera bag, and a strong sense of “we’ll figure it out.”

The Lightbulb Moment (Somewhere Between Diss and Norwich)

Midway through the journey, it hit me: don’t try to stage this. These guys are the show. The banter, the chaos, the unpredictable moments—that is their brand. So instead of forcing a shoot that didn’t fit, we pivoted.

The plan? Go on a pub crawl. Let the day unfold. Document the madness.

Pint by Pint, Frame by Frame

From sticky floors to half-empty glasses and a lot of sideways looks from locals, we captured it all. The result? A set of raw, unfiltered, brilliantly chaotic images that couldn’t have been staged even if we’d tried.

Every photo tells a story—of personality, mischief, friendship, and absolute punk spirit. There’s laughter, a few blurred edges, and a lot of attitude. Exactly how it should be.

The Takeaway: Let the Brand Lead the Shoot

This shoot reminded me why flexibility is so important in creative work. Sometimes, the best content isn’t found in perfect lighting or precise compositions—it’s found in authenticity.

The Reverse Cowboys don’t fit a mould, and that’s what makes them great. The content we created doesn’t try to polish them—it celebrates their chaos.

Need content that’s as wild (or weird) as your band?
We don’t just shoot pretty pictures—we capture your energy, your story, your way. Even if it involves a few pints along the way.
