Golden Hour Sessions: Creating New Promotional Images for JoJo Brown

As a photographer, there's always something special about creating images that truly reflect a person's personality and artistic style. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with musician JoJo Brown on a promotional photoshoot designed to provide her with a fresh collection of images for posters, album artwork, social media, and future marketing materials.

From our initial conversations, JoJo had a very clear vision for the shoot. She wanted the images to feel warm, authentic, and cinematic, with a strong autumnal atmosphere and the soft glow of a sunset. The aim was to create photographs that felt both professional and personal — images that would complement her music while helping her stand out across her promotional platforms.

Fortunately, everything came together perfectly on the day. As the evening progressed, the light became exactly what we had hoped for. Rich golden tones filled the landscape, creating a beautiful backdrop that enhanced every frame. The combination of warm sunlight, autumn colours, and JoJo's natural presence in front of the camera allowed us to create a collection of images that felt effortless and genuine.

One of the things I enjoy most about working with musicians is the opportunity to create imagery that tells a story. Promotional photographs aren't just headshots; they're often the first impression potential listeners have of an artist. The right image can help communicate mood, style, personality, and professionalism before a single note is heard.

Throughout the session, we focused on capturing a mixture of relaxed portraits, editorial-style images, and versatile shots that can be used across a range of marketing materials. Whether for gig posters, streaming platforms, album artwork, press releases, or social media campaigns, the final gallery provides JoJo with a strong visual identity that she can use throughout her musical journey.

Looking back through the images, it's safe to say we achieved exactly what we set out to create. The warm sunset tones, autumn-inspired feel, and natural atmosphere combined to produce a set of photographs that perfectly reflect JoJo's vision.

A huge thank you to JoJo Brown for trusting me with the project. I'm excited to see these images appearing on future releases, posters, and promotional materials, and I look forward to following her continued success.

If you're a musician, performer, or artist looking to refresh your promotional imagery, I'd love to help create photographs that showcase your personality and tell your story.
